The session provided valuable insights into how power electronics and inverters can regulate the voltage magnitude and power angle of solar plants relative to the grid voltage at the Point of Interconnection (POI). This enables effective control of active power export as well as reactive power import and export. Although several topics from the original agenda could not be covered due to time constraints, the session provided a useful overview of reactive power management and inverter-based grid support in large-scale solar plants.

I recently watched the recorded session on Reactive Power Compensation on Large Scale Solar Plants. In the session, the presenter explained, how the power electronics & inverters can adjust the magnitude and power angle of the Solar plants w.r.t. the Grid voltage at POI thereby can control the Active Power export & Reactive Power Export & Import. The importance of the grid code implementation for the inverter based RE sources was presented in the session. Many topics as per the original agenda could not be covered due to time constraints. However, the overall session was informative.
